The difference between a juicer and a blender

Nowadays, there are a variety of appliances used for juicing fruits and vegetables, called different ways, in general, these machines are divided into two categories: Blender and Juicer, the main difference between the two are that the juice and pulp will not be separated after juicing.

A blender is to use a rotating blade to grind various ingredients and mix them, and the substance is more like a paste shake than a liquid juice; in addition, the blender can also make smoothies, grind meat, and make soy milk, grind dry goods into powder, etc. Many businesses also call the blender a cooking machine, the high-power, the high-speed blender is called a wall-breaker.

Juicers will separate the juice and pulp residue from each other. Traditional juicers use a rotating blade to quickly cut the fruit while using the principle of centrifugal force to make the juice separate from the pulp and flow out from a specific outlet and collect so that the juice is squeezed out in the true liquid form.

There is also a kind of juicer that uses pressing technology instead of blade cutting, which is called slow juicer or original juicer by businessmen, using pressure to squeeze out the water inside the pulp, avoiding the high temperature to oxidize the juice and retaining the freshness of the juice to the maximum extent, while avoiding the fine pulp from mixing into the juice and forming pomace on the surface of the juice, making the juice taste better.

Juicing Juicer or Blender

The following chart compares juice and fruit shakes in terms of satiety, speed of nutrient absorption, absorption rate, and dietary fiber content, illustrating the respective pros and cons of juicers and blenders, so users can choose the right juicing machine according to their needs.

Blenders are superior to juicers on several levels, as follows.

Blenders retain the nutrients of fruits and vegetables more fully. Whereas juice is high in sugar and the remaining solids are rich in fiber and other nutrients, fruit shakes contain all the vitamins, minerals, and fiber that are good for the body.

Avoid waste. When using a juicer, about 30-40% of the pulp is discarded and ends up as wet waste, while a blender avoids waste while satisfying drinking fruit.

Cost considerations. Getting the same nutritional value and satiety, blenders require less costly ingredients, and there is no sugar overload and a lot of kitchen waste.

Cleaning the blender is easier. Cleaning a juicer is more cumbersome and time-consuming, and to have a glass of juice, you have to clean the inside of the machine covered with plant pellets, and these sticky substances become more difficult to clean over time, blackening and deteriorating. While cleaning the blender, just fill it with water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid, and then gently stir it.

Finally, this article does not deny the value of juicers. For people who otherwise rarely consume fruits and vegetables, juicers are great for not only the ease of juicing but also the ability to mix juices with different fruits and vegetables, which makes the activity of consuming fruits and vegetables more interesting. For daily level fruit and vegetable consumption, blenders are more practical, in addition to retaining the dietary fiber of fruits and vegetables and reducing the waste of ingredients, they can also be used as an ingredient handling prop in cooking.
